On the eve of her thirtieth birthday, sports agent Bess Beringer is ready to make some changes. Armed with a five-year plan—indexed and color coded—she’ll tackle her personal life with the same zeal that she brings to her successful agency.

A big, tall, ripped hunk of hockey player who’s just been traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers is not a part of that plan. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz has a lot of baggage. He’s a ride-or-die loner with a bad reputation. He’s on the rebound. He’s also the sexiest thing on two legs, and for some crazy reason it’s Bess that he wants.

She knows better. But then she falls stupid in love with him anyway. And for a while it seems like maybe he’ll do the same.

Until she asks him for the one thing he can never give her…

The Brooklyn Bruisers series gets better and better with each book. Sure Shot is smart, sexy, heartwarming, intense, and of course smoking hot. Ms. Bowen knocked my socks off with this installment of the Brooklyn Bruisers. While the snippets of hockey are exciting, it’s what happens off the ice that entices me.

The characters are three dimensional with real life problems. Every time I revisit Brooklyn, it’s like coming home. This fictional hockey team has won my heart. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz story is absolutely heartbreaking, but don’t fear ladies, there’s a silver lining at the end of the tunnel for this big guy. I loved the way Ms. Bowen gave the reader insight into the struggles and strains a player experiences when he’s uprooted and traded to a new team. But not only the player, but also his family, and his new teammates. It was an excellent way of allowing the readers an opportunity to learn more about our hero and the team.

Bess was sassy and smart as a whip. Her five year plan seemed solid, but what’s a girl to do when her plan is highjacked by a sexy blast from the past? The chemistry between Bess and Tank is off the charts, both in and out of the bedroom. Ms. Bowen had me rooting for them from the very beginning. I couldn’t get enough of this couple. I loved their spark, their hunger for one another, and their sweet, sensual connection outside the bedroom. It drew me into their story and had me finishing the book in one sitting.

If you haven’t checked out Sarina Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruisers series, then you’re missing out. I’d recommend this series to anyone who loves hockey, sexy heroes, and fierce, independent heroines who want to be loved for themselves. It’s a rush that you’ll enjoy until the very end.
