Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

Blake Riley is quirky, sexy, laid-back, but don’t be fooled. The man has a lot of depth and so does his character. This is a new series for me by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, but I’m enjoying it. The authors draw you into their character’s world, especially during the hockey scenes. The sex is hot, the humor is flowing, and the love is genuine. You can feel the affection between the characters, which made me like them even more.

My heart went out to Jess and the way she perceived herself through her family’s eyes. She’s a smart woman who doesn’t give herself enough credit. She’s a strong, lovable character who sees the generosity in others. I was rooting for Jess and Blake to find their happily ever after because they both deserved it.

The secondary characters are intriguing and made me want to know more about them, especially some of Blake’s teammates. The camaraderie between this group of men is inspiring. The ribbing back and forth made me feel right at home.

The writing is smart, creative, and sexy. I have never been to Canada, so I enjoyed the world-building. I’m fascinated with Ms. Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruiser’s series and now I’ve added the WAGS to my list. Speaking of the WAGS, they are a hoot. I love their energy, their kindness, but most of all, I love the way they stick together when times are tough. They are a welcoming group of women, who I would definitely be friends with in real life.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and would definitely recommend Good Boy to my friends.

Rated 4 Ravens by the Blackraven!
