Perfect Stranger by Gem Sivad
Publisher: Ellora’s Cave Publishing
Genre: Historical Romance, Western/Cowboys
Length: 249 pages
A book in the Eclipse Heat series.
Lucy and Ambrose Quince share fiery passion in and out of bed; they love hard but fight often, both having opinions and tempers. But Lucy mysteriously disappears in 1874, leaving the Double-Q ranch and all she loves behind. Three years later, scarred in mind and body, Lucy is drawn back to Eclipse and the life she’s forgotten—including a snarling, lustful husband.
Although she claims she can’t remember him, Ambrose hasn’t forgotten a damned thing. Lucy left him and he owes her nothing. Trouble is—his heart remembers too, and Lucy’s the only woman who’ll ever own it.
Reader Advisory: This book contains rape and graphic violence. This title was previously published elsewhere as Intimate Strangers, but has been revised extensively for Ellora’s Cave.
Lace’s Review:
Lord almighty how the strong have fallen. Ambrose Quince is truly a lucky cat when his run-a-way dead wife returns and save his neck. Now, the question is what to do with her?
Perfect Stranger by Gem Sivad is the second part to Lucy and Ambrose’s story, and I will say the best so far. Ambrose is still the hard living cowboy, and I love him this time around.*grin* Lucy is still a spitfire and grown more into her character.
The second string of characters help make this book well worth reading. There were so many comings and goings but you never lost track to the main plot of the book. As I said previously, I want to read this series from the beginning because I have a feeling that I am missing something about the town Eclipse. From the town’s history, to the people who make it what it is, there are some characters I would like to know their stories.
There are enough sparks between Ambrose and Lucy to put a burr in someone’s spur and ultimately to want her dead. This added suspense had me waiting for the other shoe to drop, and drop it did. Ms. Sivad has developed a well-written story full of suspense, engaging characters, and rich love scenes in Perfect Strangers.
Come on and strap on those chaps, throw on them there boots and head over to Eclipse, to see all the fireworks because Gem Sivad has created a true realistic HEA. One I truly enjoyed reading.
