Summary:
Garrick has spent the better part of his life making his Las Vegas lupin pack the strongest of all the post-war human-born paranormal groups. Now he wants something for himself-a mate. But how will his pack respond if they discover their Alpha is a closeted sexual submissive?
Not the typical faerie prince, Faolan is disobedient, lives in exile and has more piercings than a punk band. He’s also a sexual dominant longing for someone to call his own.
What are a lovelorn faerie and wolf to do? Turn to a paranormal dating service, of course. When Divine Intervention pairs Garrick and Faolan, it’s a match made in BDSM heaven, the resulting explosion a conflagration of passion the likes of which neither has ever known. Of course, the reactions to a wolf/faerie union are just as heated…
Lea Review:
Faerie Bound is an interesting story about paranormals who have served others for many years and have reached the time to fulfill their own needs, specifically the need to love and be loved. The book is filled with interesting characters and a plot and subplots that are intriguing and ongoing, leaving plenty of room for the story to continue.
While Garrick and Faolin are the two main characters in Faerie Bound, this book is full of wonderful characters. Garrick and Faolin each has a longtime best friend offering unconditional acceptance and encouragement as well as steadfast defense against all threats whether physical, verbal or emotional. The characters of Renee and Zachary, the lovers who operate Divine Interventions – a dating service for paranormals looking for their destined mates, are funny and bewitching. There is no need for the antagonists in this story to wear black hats as they are clearly written and most obviously evil.
In writing the characters of Garrick and Faolin, Jenna Castille gives short glimpses into the past of these two males that permit the reader to better understand the motivation behind their actions and thought processes. Faolin’s wartime experience with a young girl and Garrick’s unfailing acceptance of the loves of those in his pack show a facet of each character that enriches the story.
The subplots in Faerie Bound are both enjoyable and thought provoking. The notion by members of a group that it is totally within their right to exert control over their leader’s sexual preferences is not a new one, but well presented in this story. The issue of war and how some are determined to move forward and some would rather die than let go of their anger is also an interesting issue. And I was pleased by the theme of thoughtful self-evaluation followed by acceptance; some things in life just can’t be explained.
For those who enjoy paranormal romance as well as light BDSM all wrapped up in a great story, this is a very fine read.
