AJ’s Review:
The “What If” Guy by Brooke Moss is one of the best contemporary romances that I’ve ever read, which resembles real life. In fact, it’s absolutely, positively fantastic. Ms. Moss is a genius.
The characters are witty, humorous, lovable, feisty and endearing all at the same time. I loved Autumn and and her son Elliot who at times simply broke my heart for everything that they had to endure. It definitely wasn’t easy living with an alcoholic father and having to come back to a small town to literally face all of your demons, whether you wanted to or not. Billy’s character, as the alcoholic father, made me want shake him most of the time, but in the end he not only knew what was important, but also how to express it to Autumn and her son Elliot.
Henry is sexy, compassionate, humorous, and an all round GREAT guy. I want a Henry of my own. He had a silent strength about him and an ability to lift people up when they were down that just made me fall in love with him more and more. I don’t know how Autumn ever left him. Now, suffice to say, Henry and Autumn’s first meeting wasn’t pretty at all, but as they rediscovered one another and recognized the growth that each other had accomplished through their life experiences was simply fascinating.
The secondary characters, Holly, Cody, their flock of kids and the rest of the people in Fairfield only made the story that more entertaining. Ms. Moss definitely understands small town antics and the gossip that emerges from the busy bodies down to a tee. Her depiction of Fairfield was so descriptive that I felt more like a part of the town instead of a reader on the outside looking in, which increased the realism of the story.
The “What If” Guy will make you laugh, cry, and believe in everlasting love. You know, the kind of love that shoots straight to the soul and never lets go. The sexual tension between Henry and Autumn is smoking hot and once again made me want a Henry of my own because the man has skills.
The “What If” Guy has heart and soul with an undeniable passion between the hero and heroine that will simply take your breath away.
If you’re looking for a captivating story that will grab you by the heart strings and never let you go as it takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride filled with some pain, anguish, self-doubt, loss, humor, sadness, and most of all endearing, everlasting love, then check out The “What If” Guy by Brooke Moss. Trust me, you will not be sorry. This is definitely a re-read on more than one occasion. I’ve already recommended it to several friends. Moreover, I hope that Ms. Moss writes another book that tells more about this enticing community because I’d definitely read it. In essence, The “What If” Guy by Brooke Moss is undeniably, everlasting love at it’s finest. Bravo!
