Fried Pickles and the Fuzz by Calico Daniels
Series: Redneck Fabulous Series, Book One
Publisher: Astraea Press
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Comedy
Length: 71 pages

Summary:
Big Creek might be a stereotypical small town but even they have drama.
Heather loves her little café, and her best customer is the county Sherriff. She’s been waiting months for him to ask her out…maybe she won’t have to wait much longer.
Bronson feels at home in Big Creek even though he hasn’t been the Sherriff for long. Small towns have their perks and a pretty café owner who cooks like an angel certainly doesn’t hurt. Now, if he could only get over his nerves and drum up the gumption to ask her out.
Throw in a gossip mill, a redneck festival and an ill timed attempt to help and you end up with some laughs, some ruffled feathers and a town that is….Redneck Fabulous.
Deb’s Review :
Land sakes, I have never laughed so hard as I did reading, Fried Pickle’s and the Fuzz by Calico Daniels. This light-hearted, contemporary romance grabs at your heartstrings while tickling your funny bone.
Sheriff Bronson is shamelessly head over heels in love with the owner of the Fried Pickle Diner. Now, all he has to do is convince her that he’s worthy of a chance. Bronson is as sweet as they come. Not only did he make my knees week, but his stumbling also enhanced his charm.
Heather is a true delight! I enjoyed her down to earth vibe. Heather finds herself in a predicament that just might ruin what she hoped to be her happily ever after. Can she get over this stumbling block, or will she let the best thing she’s ever had walk out of her life for good?
Bronson and Heather have their work cut out for them with the town folk. Big Creek is like any other small town where everyone knows your business. However, the town folk sure add to the richness of the main plot line. Ms. Daniels will we see more books from this little town? I have to admit I wanted to know who’s truck Heather borrowed.
If you want a sweet, fun, crazy short read then pick-up Fried Pickles and the Fuzz by Calico Daniels. It was a true delight to read!

AJ’s Review:
Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series is one of my favorites and Halfway There did not disappoint. Ms. Mallery has penned a short, entertaining read with engaging, likable characters who will steal your heart and put a smile on your face.
I loved the easy camaraderie between Fayrene and Ryan as they quickly got to know one another. This charismatic couple covered everything from birthing cats, to cheating ex-girlfriends, to their life’s plan and while some of their plan’s didn’t quite mesh, Ms. Mallery once again proves if you’re willing to listen and deeply care about one another anything is possible, even when plans slightly change. Fayrene is a smart, talented, strong, independent woman who’s living her dream by running her own business. Although it wasn’t in her plans to fall head-over-heels in love with Ryan, the heart wants what the heart wants.
Ryan is one sexy geek who is charming and could grab any woman’s attention, but he only has eyes for Fayrene. Although his initial plans involved a temporary stay in Fool’s Golds, things quickly changed for him after meeting Fayrene and being offered the job of a lifetime. I loved how Ryan truly listened to Fayrene and vice versa. In fact, it’s part of what made their relationship so special.
The secondary characters were pivotal in allowing the story to progress. I always enjoy not only catching up with the previous characters in Fool’s Gold books, but I also enjoy meeting new ones. Fayrene’s sisters, Dellina and Ana Raquel, were a hoot. I enjoyed their witty banter and it was obvious that these three had been through a lot and that their love and support of one another ran deep. The dialogue remains fresh as with each Fool’s Gold novel and the sexual tension between Fayrene and Ryan sizzled.
If you’re looking for a entertaining quick read with charismatic characters who will warm your heart, put a smile on your face, and make you believe in love at first sight and Happily Ever Afters, then Susan Mallery’s Halfway There is definitely the book to read. What a wonderful addition to the Fool’s Gold series. I sure hope Ms. Mallery has stories in mind for Dellina and Ana Raquel.

The titles in his bundle have been previously released as Bondage on the 4th of July, Halloween Submission, and A Slave for Christmas. The entire series has been reedited for re-release. You can still purchase these titles individually.**
Lace’s Review:
Bondage on the 4th of July was a sexy, hot read that I just could not get enough of. Kenny and Brad are two Dom’s that had me thinking “Double the pleasure, double the fun.” LOL! I am betting those two can be a handful. Millie is one lucky gal. *grins* However, she has some making up to do.
Halloween Submission is a stunning, hot, very emotional story. So, no matter what other story you read in this Anthology, be sure to read this one. I am half in love with Tom myself. His dominance just draws you to him. Lucy is a delightful heroine, but I have to admit that I would have liked her better if she had some sass. Half in love with each other from the start, Tom and Lucy give their story a special after glow.
A Slave for Christmas was a heart stopping read. Kenny from the first story gets his own story, which made it even more intriguing. Trust me when I say that he sets the pages on fire. Lindsey is a pleasant surprise in that she gives herself wholly to the submissive roll. Even though you get a feeling that she likes to top from the top, that is so not the case.
Even though the stories in Bound are nothing short from fantastic, they all have the potential to become longer, stronger stories on their own.

NOTE: You are purchasing Part 1: No Regrets of Her Gentle Giant. This purchase does not include Part 2: Remember to Dance.
Part 2 is the conclusion of Her Gentle Giant and will be available for purchase on Thursday, December 23rd.
Lace’s Review:
Her Gentle Giant, part # 1 is one of my top 10 favorite romances. Thank you Ms. Rainier for giving us Eli and Rachel. The chemistry between Eli and Rachel is off the charts. They struggled to achieve what both their hearts wanted.
Rachel Lopez is a strong, independent woman, who is head over heels infatuated with Dancing Pony’s new bouncer Eli Wolf. Her own self-doubts put this budding romance in jeopardy.
Eli Wolf a huge hottie with a heart of gold. He comes to Divine through a job opportunity as a bouncer and some added muscle. He is new to Divine, but one thing he has noticed is that Divine is not short on breath taking women. There is one woman that caught his interest and that’s Rachel.
We meet Eli and Rachel in book #1, Divine Grace, so Her Gentle Giant is part one of their story. Ms. Rainier left us with a wonderful lead-in to part #2. I cannot wait to see what’s in-store is for these two and the town of Divine.
Ms. Rainier has once again given us a story that will have our hearts soring!! Heather Rainer is anything but predictable. The most challenging thing for me reading her books is putting them down once I get started.

Buttercup by Sienna Mynx
Publisher: The Divas Pen
Genre: Interracial Romance
Length: 116 pages

Summary:
Ain’t nothing sweeter than the forbidden. Her name is Buttercup. And he’ll kill them all before he’ll let her go…
It is the 1930s, the era of Al Capone, John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Ma Barker, and Bonnie and Clyde. When gangsters, bootleggers, bank robbers and racketeers ruled the night and the law. Amongst them, a young outlaw is blazing his way to infamy. He’s known as Silvio ‘Bloodshot’ Garelli. Bitter over the untimely death of his childhood friend and his wrongful incarceration, Silvio, now again on the outside, is determined to live his life by the gun. But his love for a colored hooch dancer at a carnival haunts him with painful memories that keep him seeking answers.
Her name is Buttercup. Born and raised in a dustbowl carnival by a midget named Tiny and a fading beauty ex-Vaudeville dancer, she’s got a secret. Fate intervenes. Silvio and his band of brothers stumble upon a rural country town—and Buttercup’s carnival. She fears he wants revenge for all he’s lost due to their brief love affair. But what he wants will ignite passions, and fury, beyond either of their imaginings. And when the dust settles, so does the matter of love between them.
Lace’s Review:
Buttercup by Sienna Mynx is an intriguing story that kept me on the edge of my seat from cover to cover. I adore the main characters, as they give the story life and some depth. I have to give props to an amazing cover artist… just stunningly beautiful work.
Silvio’s character draws me in immediately because his character has heart that most will not see. His pull toward Buttercup had me waiting, holding my breath. His doubtfulness in himself comes through as does the love he has for Buttercup.
Buttercup is a woman of great beauty, which in these times of the world could be a blessing for someone in her line of work. As carnie, she had to do what was needed for cash to survive. What she did not expect was to fall for someone like Silvio.
The Prologue set the tone of the book. Normally, I don’t like reading them, but in this case it helped me understand what was happening between Buttercup and Silivo, as well as the whole package.
Buttercup takes place in the 1930’s when interracial relationships were not accepted, but practiced in private when the gangsters ran everything. Ms. Mynx gives us great detail in describing the scenes. The down fall of this book for me was the carnival scenes because they crept me out. I still get the chills. *grins* The story reads fast, so you don’t get bogged down with too much. There were a few twists that I did not see coming, which made the plot even more intriguing.
All in all, Buttercup by Sienna Mynx was a look into a different world, where even in this place, true love is always possible.

Amanda Sloane’s passion has been solely focused on becoming a well-respected, NYC art appraiser. With that appetite sated, she can no longer ignore her body’s carnal desires.
Tasked with authenticating an uncataloged Randell painting that could be worth millions, she meets a trio of Texas ranch hands who take her on an erotic ride imagined only in her deepest fantasy. Now, Jake is counting on the elegant and sophisticated art appraiser to authenticate his grandaddy’s painting to stave off foreclosure on the family ranch. Awakening the big city vixen’s sexual hunger has his body ablaze with need and his heart yearning for love.
Can Amanda give up the intoxicating pleasure of her sexual awakening? Or is Jake’s love unconditional enough to encourage her to continue her erotic odyssey?
This title contains: explicit language, anal sex, ménage a trios (m/f/m), and voyeurism.
Trixie’s Review:
Yeehawwwwwww! Those literally were the first words that came to mind as I read One Hard Ride by M.M. Bordeaux. Wild sex and passionate characters, mixed with an intriguing plot definitely lead to one hard ride! Amanda’s opportunity to go to Texas presents more than just a job. A total awakening of hidden passion is uncovered and like the saying goes, once it has been unleashed, there is no turning back!
From her first moment on the Morgan Ranch, Amanda is exposed to not only a stallion mating with his mare, but watching ranch hands get it on, turns her into a wild and wanton woman. Menage, anal, and downright lust await her as she uses her knowledge in the art and antiquities world to determine if the artifacts Justin and Jake have are worth the evil cousin that is trying to destroy everything they own.

Passion Creek by Avery Flynn
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
Genre: Erotic, Contemporary Romance
Length: 164 pages

Summary:
Uptight history professor Sam Layton may have the abs of a movie action hero, but he stopped believing in the joy of adventure a long time ago. However, when a one-night stand with a tattooed bombshell leads to a treasure map for the long-buried Rebecca’s Bounty, the call to action is too strong to ignore.
All Las Vegas cocktail waitress Josie Winarsky wants to do is paint. But when she lands smack dab in the middle in a mob plot, she has to push aside her dreams to find a treasure in Dry Creek, Nebraska and save her family from harm. With Sam at her side and a Vegas loan shark on her tail, the treasure she finds turn out to be much more valuable than emeralds and rubies.
Trixie’s Review:
The saying goes that you find what you aren’t looking for when you least expect it. Sam Layton didn’t expect to find a woman that rocked his world along with having the power to put to rest a century old hunt for treasure. Josie Winarsky was as down on her luck as anyone could be. Having to make a choice between staying in Vegas and becoming an easy target for the mob or taking herself out of state to hunt for a hidden treasure, the answer should have been an easy one.
It would have been too, if Sam Layton hadn’t stuck his nose in her business along with her heart. Two tough characters who keep hidden dark secrets that make it hard for them to trust each other. Pushed together by fate, they have to depend on destiny to lead them safely around Passion Creek.
Avery Flynn’s third book on the Layton brothers doesn’t disappoint in her journey for two unlikely souls to find each other. Her characters are tough and full of real problems with real emotions. They love as fiercely as they tangle, which leads to powerful moments on their search for a treasure that will set them free.

Summary:
Aidan Hunter is tired of city living and shallow women who only want to date him for his money and family legacy. Dubbed “The Pasta King” and named most eligible bachelor in New York City, he escapes to his cabin upstate to figure out what he wants. He hopes to meet a woman who will love him for who he is…but he never counted on a certain schoolteacher to throw his world into chaos.
Isabella Summers is shocked at the sexual attraction she feels for the rude worker on the Christmas tree farm. But when he shows up at a friend’s party and seeks her out, she finds she no longer wants to fight their attraction…but she never counted on love with a stranger carrying a secret.
Can love and truth triumph?
AJ’s Review:
The Holiday Hoax by Jennifer Probst is a sweet, quick holiday read that will definitely put you in the spirit of the season. Ms. Probst has penned a delightful read with charismatic characters who are lonely and looking for love.
Aidan is sexy, intelligent, and trying to find his way in life, even if it means leaving the family business. But most of all, he’s lonely and looking for a woman who is genuine, honest, and won’t play games. While he’s been dubbed “The Pasta King” and named the most eligible bachelor in New York City, this hottie is just a normal guy looking for love and trying to figure out what he truly wants to do for a profession that will make him happy.
Isabella has been burned by rich men, so as a result, she avoids them like the plague. But when she meets Aidan while buying a Christmas tree, sparks fly. There’s only one problem, Aidan isn’t who Isabella thinks he is and the revelation could destroy the tentative relationship that has started to blossom. Will Aidan and Isabella truly get what they want for Christmas?
The dialogue in The Holiday Hoax is fluid and believable. The characters are genuine and will quickly find a place in your heart. Ms. Probst provides a vivid setting that draws the reader into the holiday spirit. The secondary characters were just enough to increase the depth of this story short, but not enough to take away from our hero and heroine. I loved how Ms. Probst made her characters work for their Happily Ever After through trials and tribulations, which made the story even more realistic. If you’re looking for a quick holiday read that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face, then The Holiday Hoax by Jennifer Probst is definitely the book to read.

Double Bang! by KyAnn Waters and Tarah Scott
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance, Menage
Length: 30 pages

Summary:
Sara Martin has a problem. And it’s not the attraction she has for her co-worker Devon Curran…or the lust she feels for her sexy neighbor, Rigg.
Suddenly Devon doesn’t look happy. And that is a gun in his pocket.
Trixie’s Review:
Sara knows something is wrong with her boss’s security but she has no idea the security breech will get her up close and personal with not only Devon, a sexy coworker she has been eyeing or her equally scrumptious neighbor Rigg. What a delightful read this short story was. I love Tarah Scott’ and Kyann Waters and knew that together they would produce a story that wouldn’t disappoint.
Suspenseful from the first sentences, Double Bang! will leave you wishing there was more banging going on. Skeptical at first, Sara sets out to decide who is playing who in corporate espionage. What she didn’t count on was that both the guys she had the hots for would have them in return. A brief menage fulfilled her fantasy while a real relationship would make her world. Bad boy risk taker Rigg sets her on fire with just his looks while detailed delicious Devon yanks at her heart strings. For a fast paced read, Double Bang! has it all.

Lost in Bliss by Sophie Oak
Series: Nights in Bliss, Colorado, Book #4
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand
Genre: Erotic Contemporary, Menage, M/F/M
Length: 298 pages

Summary:
Laura Niles left her past behind. She fled Washington, DC, with her career in ruins and her love life decimated. In her desperate flight, she found a home in Bliss, Colorado.
For five years, Rafe Kincaid and Cameron Briggs have searched for the only woman they’ve ever loved. The FBI agents couldn’t share her before, and it tore them apart. Now they have tracked her down, and they want answers. Why did she run? Why did she hide? Why are there so many naked people in Bliss?
Laura is shocked when her former loves show up in her new home. And when they bring the full force of the FBI with them, Laura knows Bliss is in for a rough ride, because a killer has been watching and waiting for a second chance. And so have Rafe and Cam.
Lace’s Review:
Lost in Bliss by Sophie Oak is another hit by this marvelous author. I find myself waiting to see what Ms. Oak comes up with next. Cam, Laura and Rafe have their own spin on the little town of Bliss.
Cam may be a huge hot cowboy, but he’s one big ole teddy bear inside. He had me melting in my seat. He knows that the only woman he’s ever loved is hidden in Bliss. Now, all he had to do is talk this fiery woman into submitting, which is where the story gets interesting. Although Rafe is nothing to sneeze at in the looks department, he is a whole different beast. I found myself having a hard time liking him at first. His true FBI colors show in the beginning, but I am happy to say he turns into a different man.
Laura is quite an amazing heroine with her sauciness and kind heart. It’s easy to enjoy her character. Moreover, I enjoyed her and Wolf’s antics. Together, they are a trip. Laura’s own quirkiness helps her fit in the Bliss community. Unfortunately, as her past begins catching up to her, things are about to get interesting.
I caught myself laughing at Rafe and Cam as they stumbled through their first encounter with Laura, as she and Wolf pretended to be engaged. Bad Wolf! Now there is a man with a story. I am emotionally attached to the town of Bliss, Colorado and its town’s people. Sophie Oak gives us a quirky series that I will always hold dear.
The secondary characters are old and new. The town’s people kept me laughing with the turn of every page. When you combine their humor with a suspenseful plot that entails danger and a few shocker moments, you get a book that’s hard to put down and Sophie Oak’s Lost in Bliss definitely fits the bill in this category for me.

Appetites by Lucy O
Publisher: Self Published
Genre: Erotica, Contemporary
Length: 27 pages

Summary:
Meet sexy chef Susanna as she takes you on a lusty romp through the delights of the kitchen in APPETITES, the first in a new series from Lucy O. As a special bonus, this edition includes two recipes from the story guaranteed to delight your palate and arouse your lust.
Cooking show host Susanna has a knack for making food erotic. When she brings a spoonful of risotto to her rosy lips, all the guys in her audience get hard. But when her boyfriend screws her, then screws her over right before she goes on air, she ruins her career with an open-mic rant that breaks every FCC rule and gets her fired on the spot.
But things are looking up for our delicious little dish. Station owner and billionaire media mogul Ben Elliott has had his eye on Susanna, and now that she needs a job, he pounces. She can be the head chef of his erotic new restaurant, Appetites – if she can pass his personal test. Using only one ingredient, without touching him, she has to make him hard. That’s too easy for Susanna, so she ups the ante by promising to give him the best orgasm of his life – with her lascivious use of chocolate.
Getting the chef job is a cinch. But will Susanna win the billionaire’s heart too?
After the story, find two exclusive recipes from Susanna’s kitchen: a creamy, luscious risotto, and perfectly tempered chocolate for the most exciting food-play ever.
Lace’s Review:
Appetites is an unusual, very sensual read that’s quite enjoyable. Susanna is full of sexy sauciness, and I enjoyed her for that. Her play on with food is quiet entertaining to say the least. *grins*
Throw in one hunky boss that has the taste for everything delectable, and you have the makings of a fun read that will make you laugh.
There is a scene with a hot male, chocolate and a sassy mouth that will melt your panties. *Have the ice close by*LOL!
The characters were delicious because Lucy O wrote them so well. I was actually starving because of the tantilizing recipes by the end of this book. I’m definitely going to have to try some of these that were in the back of the book because they had my mouth watering. The only complaint I have is the book was too short. Yes, I am greedy when it is a book I enjoyed.
So all in all, Appetites by Lucy O is a fun, short read that you can read within an hour, but the quirkiness and fun of the story will stay with you throughout the day.

Stray By Erin Lark
Publisher: Total-E-Bound
Genre: BDSM, Contemporary, Erotic Romance
Length: 170 pages

Summary:
Being human isn’t easy, but being a wolf is even worse.
For Alyssa, life as a stray has never been easy. And finding a shifter-friendly Dom is close to impossible, especially after the hell she went through with the last one. Beaten and scarred, she’s determined to take her life back, one skin at a time. Even if it means falling for Dylan—one of the best alphas in the region—who’d much rather prepare her for another Dom than keep her for himself.
The last time Dylan gave his heart to another, the bitch promptly threw it on the ground and stomped on it. Subs be damned if he’s going to let it happen again. But when Alyssa—a redhead who’s just as fiery in person as she is in bed—steps into his life, he’ll do whatever he can to keep her safe. Even if that means falling in love with her.
Can Alyssa learn to trust another Dom and accept her skin as a wolf? Or will Dylan lose her to the scars from her past?
Lace’s Review:
Stray by Erin Lark is an enchanting story about a woman who has endured more than any human or creature should ever experience in one’s lifetime. Even though this book is told in the first person, it did not detour me from enjoying a well written book.
I must admit that I am in awe with Dylan Roik. His character is very masterful when it comes to servicing his subs. You get to know what makes him tick, as well as what haunts him. I need to ask Ms. Lark, was it difficult to write a Dom who is as intense as Dylan? When he enters into a room, I want to bow in a submissive position. *grins*
Alyssa is a strong heroine with a huge heart. A tragic outcome has her contacting Master Dylan for his guidance. She goes into this as a student, seeking; but comes out with a better understanding of herself, as well as the importance of being with the right Master as love quickly blossoms for this dynamic couple. Ms. Lark tells us Alyssa’s story through the eyes of her character, and it is a breathtaking journey.
The intensity of power that Dylan and Alyssa have together had me glued until the end. Their scenes together are as explosive as a firecracker on the Fourth of July. {Hand me a fan} The secondary characters add enough to the main characters that you get to know them on a more personal level, as well as their relationship with Dylan and Alyssa.
The plot was intriguing with a hint of suspense. I must say that I haven’t ran across this type of story line in a BDSM book before, so it was refreshing to try something new. Erin Lark is a new author to me, but one I can assure you I will be reading more of. If you like your Masters, dark and delicious and your submissives quite pleasurable then you need to pick up a copy of Stray by Erin Lark.

A Siren Erotic Romance
Lace’s Review:
Two Fangs and a Hoof by Joyee Flynn is the fourth book in the Midnight Mating series, and I must say even though the other books in this series were great reads, so far this is my favorite.
You have three stunningly sexy men, along with some equally sexy bedroom actions. What more can you ask for, right? Even though there is a lot of love/hate going on these three make Two Fangs and a Hoof worth reading. I have to admit, I have never read a book with this premise. I have a hard time enjoying POV stories, but Ms. Flynn made this easy.
Shea, the herbivore shifter, is a power whore. Sorry, but it is true. I have a love/hate feeling for this character, he is unsure of his mates and how they became mated, but in the end he understands why they did what they did.
Calin and Dustin are two cute vamps. We don’t get too much on these two, but what we do makes me want to snuggle up with them. They did what they needed to in order to survive. Their hope is that Shea will accept it in the end and share in their love for one another.
There was not much in the way of supporting characters, but truly these three made such a strong story that there was no need. There is a touch of on the edge of your seat moments, which adds to the plus factor of this book.
The backdrop of Two Fangs and a Hoof was a different feel, but in a good way. Ms. Flynn sure did capture my attention and that’s saying something for a reviewer who doesn’t read much M/M stories.

Squeak and a Roar by Joyee Flynn
Series: Midnight Matings, Book #1
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand Publishing
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance, GLBT, M/M
Length: 112 Pages

Summary:
[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, sex toys]

There is no escaping the Midnight Matings.
Software developer Gavin Ashby is perfectly happy with his life. He finds other people annoying after being around them for only a short period of time, and having a mate sounds like pure torture to him.

A Siren Erotic Romance
Lace’s Review:
I pleasantly surprised when I began reading Squeak and a Roar by Joyee Flynn because it was a unique M/M read that at times had me smiling and other times gasping. This book had a thriller feel which was great, but it also had some editing flaws. However, I found it to be an enjoyable read overall.
Gavin is a fierce lion shifter, who comes off as a non-likable jerk at first. But with help from loved ones and his mate, he softens a bit as the story progresses. I had a stumbling block with this character to the point that I found myself wanting to throw my hands up, and ask Ms. Flynn why she created Gavin for Ant. This was even after reading this book was a mystery.
Ant is adorable, sweet, and lovable, which is needed in handling a lion like Gavin. But make no mistake, Ant was no push over. He stands up against Galvin a lot because he believes in them and what they can give each other.
The sex scenes were hot, yet at times sweet. There was a scene that had me holding my breath because it was definitely not for the faint of heart. So Fair Warning! You get the connection between the heroes of this book, as they get pushed to their limits, which is what makes the outcome totally shocking.
The plot line was slow at first, but picked up nicely about midway through the book. I would have never imagined a hot read would include a mouse shifter, but there you have it. LOL ! Squeak and a Roar is worth reading till the end. I feel myself needing to read the other books in this series by Stormy Glenn and Gabriele Evans to see where on earth this series generated from. *grins*
If you like M/M stories with an off cue plot, then Squeak and a Roar will be right up your alley.

Mack Dunstan’s Inferno by Paul Collins
Publisher: iUniverse Publishing
Genre: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Adventure
Length: 148 pages

Summary:
Mack ‘Max’ Dunstan has played Moses, Marc Anthony, Ben-Hur, President Andrew Jackson, and Long John Silver. He has starred in The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, El Cid, 55 Days in Peking, Planet of the Apes, Omega Man, and Soylent Green, to name a few. Sadly, in this age of social media, reality television, and political correctness, today’s generation know him only for his hard right point of views and his outspoken nature.
Mack Dunstan’s Inferno was written as a satirical, fantasy work, where Mr. Dunstan succumbed to Alzheimer’s, went through the death process, and descended into hell, where he met victims of his pro-gun policy.
Collins was a fan of Mack Dunstan. This manuscript was actually inspired when the author viewed Michael Moore, who challenged Mr. Dunstan in Bowling for Columbine. The author did not support Mr. Moore’s penchant for skewing the facts, or promoting his own agenda, but has acknowledged the filmmaker for providing the inspiration for Mack Dunstan’s Inferno. Collins was never a fan of filmmaker Michael Moore. In fact he was utterly appalled and disgusted to hear how Mr. Moore accepted the academy award. The American Academy awards were about Gucci shoes, who was wearing what, and who’s sleeping with whom. It was never about social issues.
Collins never understood how a movie director could become infamous through documentary filmmaking. Only in America! Mack Dunstan’s Inferno began with Mack Dunstan going through and experiencing the death process. As he journeyed, he met Virgil, who guided him through hell, heaven, and eventual illumination. In his journey, Mr. Dunstan met the many victims of his pro-gun policy. Many were Hispanic and African-Americans, all of whom were from the poorer classes. It was in this scenario of the underworld; Mr. Dunstan was confronted with the many sad and tragic stories, leaving him to go through the process of expurgation of guilt, anger.
Dark Star’s Review:
Wow! The blurb pretty much covers the jest of the book, so this review will be quick and dirty. The use of deceased and living celebrities and public figures to argue the morality of anti or pro-gun theories throughout history while using Dante’s Inferno as the foundation was extraordinary.
My only niggle is that there were times that the story dragged as Dunstan traveled with Virgil; dead souls continued to pop up explaining how their death was related to guns; Dunstan would cringe and then the mantra would repeat itself. While the deceased souls were interesting, there was a point where the story became a little bogged down. In addition, the editing could have been better, especially in regards to the use of similar words like “presents” being replaced for “presence”. Yet it wasn’t enough to distract from the story.
Overall, I loved the tone of Mack Dunstan’s Inferno and thought Paul Collins did an excellent job of creating a satirical fantasy world that will definitely keep the reader engrossed until the end. As stated previously, Mr. Collins use of living celebrities and public figures to argue the morality of anti- or pro-gun theories was ingenious.

Dare Me by Isabelle Drake
Series: Invitations, Book #2
Publisher: Total-E-Bound
Genre: Erotic, Contemporary Romance, Mild BDSM
Length: 32 pages

Summary:
A hotel bed, two pairs of handcuffs, coils of rope and a body builder with a naughty plan—can Kitty Maar handle it all?
Kitty Maar’s secret identity as Kelly M—the ultra-adventurous sexploitation blogger—is the result of Kitty’s overactive imagination.
Her outrageous tales of hooking up with the hottest guys in DC, attending parties at the most exclusive addresses, and joining in on spontaneous ménages at political fundraisers are the talk of Washington. So when she makes plans with Damian Markos, he’s expecting a true sexual wildcat.
Damian’s secret plan is to surprise Kitty with an evening so intense it will test even her sexual boundaries. It isn’t easy coming up with something the city’s most notorious man-hunter might not have already done, but he has connections that run deep in DC’s inner circles.
Damian is determined to show Kitty that he’s the only man she needs to satisfy her every need. Kitty is crazy about Damian, but will she be able to accept the sexual challenge he has planned for her?
Reader Advisory: This book contains mild BDSM.
Lace’s Review:
Dare Me by Isabelle Drake is a short read that will leave you panting and wanting more. Damian & Kitty are hot alone, but put them together and they are explosive!
Damian was in the first book, Now or Never. There’s not much to Damian really, except that fact that he likes his sex dark and his women willing. The man has a wicked mind.
Kitty took me completely by surprise and left me in a state of shock. From the outside looking in, she comes leaping off the pages like a sex kitten waiting to be ravished, but on the inside, she’s very shy. Not only does Kitty write for her own blog, but she also vicariously lives out fantasies through her blog posts because in real life, she would never dare partake in such delicious pleasures. What she didn’t expect was to have her fantasies fulfilled by bad boy Damian.
Even though Ms. Drake gave us a brilliant, very sensual read, I have to admit I wanted more from these two. There is something that happened in book one and I really wanted to see what would happen in regards to the outcome.
Once again, the secondary characters were in short supply, but what there was of them made, Dare Me that much more fun. The story line is dark and sexy, even though there was not a lot of sex; however, the connection between Damian and Kitty more than makes up for that.

Now or Never by Isabelle Drake
Series: Invitations, Book #1
Publisher: Total-E-Bound
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance
Length: 33 pages

Summary:
Book one in the Invitations Series
Dressed as a sex slave and hiding behind a mask, Emily arrives at a costume party ready to make a former co-worker pay for not noticing her lush curves.
Emily grabs the opportunity to make a former co-worker she fantasised about before leaving for the US Peace Corps pay for not noticing her lush curves. Her goal—blow his mind with her sex slave seduction and leave him aching for more.
Wearing a borrowed costume and mask, Daniel accepts the offer of a woman eager to show him what she can do with the sheer scarves she’s untying from her waist. His goal—make sure the woman undressing for him knows how incredible she is and understands that he isn’t a one-night-only kind of man.
Reader Advisory: This book was previously released at another publisher. It has been revised and re-edited for release with Total-E-Bound.
Lace’s Review:
Now or Never is a short, hot read that will have you cheering Emily on when she takes herself on a short trip to a sensual paradise via a costume party . Isabelle Drake gives us a small tease of her awesome writing talents in Now or Never.
Emily had me laughing from the beginning, shy girl goes all La Femme Fatal in the blink of an eye. It was truly fun to watch, but will she snare her man? Anything is possible once you leave your doubts behind.
Daniel is a hottie in a nerdy way. He has been in lust over Emily for a while, but never did anything about it. Now is his chance via a costume party, in which wearing another man’s costume reaps its own rewards.
These two characters were so much fun, but when you add in some flashy friends and commentary, you have the makings of a fun time had by all. There is a small touch of bondage, but Now or Never is mostly contemporary, erotic romance.
Now or Never is the first book in the Invitation Series, and I for one cannot wait to see what Ms. Drake comes up with for the rest of the series. If you like hot, sensual, sexy stories then pick-up Now or Never by Isabelle Drake.
